No, talks will not be recorded or streamed. This ensures a trusted space for candid discussions and sharing of insights.

Lightning talks are 10-minute presentations that should fit the same editorial scope as Binding Hook. We are interested in how digital and emerging technologies shape security.

We welcome proposals that touch on cybersecurity, AI, surveillance, information operations, critical infrastructure protection, cybercrime, digital authoritarianism, and the geopolitical dimensions of tech.

To give you a sense of fit:

We are not looking for a technical deep-dive into a new malware implant. But we are looking for a CTI-informed analysis on China’s cyber operations and how it reshapes geopolitical dynamics.

We are not looking for a generic “AI in cybersecurity” overview. But we are keen on hearing how AI-generated code impacts the offense-defense dynamics in cyberspace.

We are not looking for a product pitch on a new hardware security solution. But we are interested in how hardware vulnerabilities affect strategic autonomy debates in Europe.

Speakers whose proposals are accepted will receive a free ticket and a £500 honorarium.

Topics align with those featured on Binding Hook, covering a wide range of issues related to security and technology. Examples of these topics include AI impacts on cybersecurity, cyber operations in Ukraine and other conflicts, APT and cybercrime trends, supply chain challenges, surveillance and privacy, securing undersea cables and communications infrastructure, and much more.

The event is designed for a dynamic mix of participants, including cybercrime unit leaders, principal threat intelligence researchers, technology experts, and academics specializing in emerging technologies.

You can submit your lightning talk proposal via the form on our website. Proposals are reviewed by our team, and selected speakers will be notified.
